Here in the Upper Peninsula, there are literally hundreds upon hundreds of hiking trails to choose from. Most are easily accessible, though there are other trails that will extend into thick forests having rough terrain, bog marches, swamped river sides and steep hill climbs- just to name a few. Get the hiking information advantage before embarking you soles to the soil.

 

 

Equipment essentials —

For day hikes, you really don't need much to have a pleasurable hiking experience. First and most importantly, good quality foot ware is suggested.

 

You don't need to have tired or sore feet while traveling and you certainly don't want to encounter any pain after you've completed your hike.

 

Food and water is you next concern. Having a good hearty breakfast a couple of hours before departure will provide lasting energy until you stop for lunch. Meals should be nutritious, lightweight and easy to pack. Remember- you'll have carry out what you pack into the forest.
